Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
The National Institute on Aging (NIA)/MedStar
Research Institute (MRI) is actively recruiting an experienced,
highly motivated and qualified Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
to provide clinical research support for NIA research studies
conducted at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Candidate must
be a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with at least 5
years of experience. Vascular experience a plus.
Principal duties include performing high quality
transthoracic echocardiograms for research purposes, with a particular
focus on assessing diastolic properties (e.g. tissue Doppler,
pulmonary venous flow, IVRT) and on measuring of atrial, ventricular
and aortic dimensions. Duties also include performing carotid
and brachial arterial scans.
Working with and maintaining the Xcelera workstation, and generating
preliminary reports for the studies performed.
